The council’s Recreation and Events activity manages the Todd Energy Aquatic Centre and district pools at Waitara, Inglewood, Okato and Fitzroy; community recreation programmes including the TSB Bank Festival of Lights and the TSB Bank Fireworks Spectacular; and multi-purpose venues the TSB Bowl of Brooklands, TSB Showplace, TSB Stadium and Yarrow Stadium.

Like my libary comment things that contribute to enjoyment of general community should not be unfairly targeted particularly when savings to be achieved are minimal.
Please do not reduce the opening hours at the community pools by shortening the season. These are important community assets used and supported by local people all season. To shorten the season is to deprive rural communities of those assets – especially for those who can’t travel to New Plymouth
Hi Colin,
Thanks for your views.
If you haven’t done so already you should consider making a formal submission to the Council on this issue.
There’s a submission form at the back of the draft plan summary we have sent to all households. But if you’d prefer to make your submission online then here’s the link – http://www.newplymouthnz.com/forms/Draft20092019CommunityPlan.aspx
Thanks

Couldn’t agree more Colin. We use the Inglewood pool over summer and I’d hate to see the season shortened.
