Puke Ariki and District Libraries

Puke Ariki is the district’s integrated museum, library and visitor information centre. In addition, district libraries are located at Inglewood, Waitara, Oakura, Bell Block and Urenui.

Govett-Brewster Art Gallery

The Govett-Brewster Art Gallery is New Zealand’s premier contemporary art museum. It is recognised nationally and internationally as home to the art and ideas of pioneering filmmaker and kinetic artist Len Lye.

Recreation and Events

The council’s Recreation and Events activity manages the Todd Energy Aquatic Centre and district pools at Waitara, Inglewood, Okato and Fitzroy; community recreation programmes including the TSB Bank Festival of Lights and the TSB Bank Fireworks Spectacular; and multi-purpose venues the TSB Bowl of Brooklands, TSB Showplace, TSB Stadium and Yarrow Stadium.

Parks

The council’s Parks activity manages a diverse and extensive range of community assets including public open spaces, community halls, public cemeteries, a regional crematorium, motor camps, public toilets, public artworks and heritage features. This activity also includes Pukekura Park and the Coastal Walkway.

Roads

Solid Waste/Refuse Collection
